FAQs
What kind of music does Sabor a Cuba play?
Sabor a Cuba brings the warmth and rhythm of Cuba to weddings, parties and corporate events. Our repertoire includes son cubano, salsa, bolero, rumba, cha-cha-cha and Cuban classics, alongside cumbia, merengue, bachata and selected Latin pop.
What makes Sabor a Cuba different from a standard party band?
Our sound is rooted in authentic Cuban music, played by experienced Latin musicians with live vocals and Afro-Cuban percussion. We create a genuine musical journey: elegant and atmospheric when guests are arriving, then increasingly lively when it is time to dance.
Can the band create a Buena Vista Social Club-style atmosphere?
Yes. This is one of our favourite settings. For drinks receptions and dining, we can deliver a relaxed, sophisticated Cuban feel inspired by son, bolero and classic Havana music, with the right volume for guests to talk and enjoy the occasion.
Do you offer a Cuban trio for smaller events?
Yes. Our compact trio is a popular choice for intimate weddings, restaurant events, private parties and drinks receptions. A typical formation includes lead vocals, keys or guitar, and multi-percussion, creating a rich, full sound without taking over the space.
Can we make the band bigger for a more energetic party?
Absolutely. We can expand the line-up with instruments such as saxophone, bass, congas, timbales and additional vocals. A larger band creates more impact for evening celebrations, bigger dancefloors and events with larger guest numbers.
Is the band suitable for a Cuban or Latin-themed event?
Definitely. We can shape the performance around Cuban culture, Havana-inspired styling, Latin American celebrations or a wider Latin party theme. Let us know the atmosphere you have in mind and we will recommend the right line-up and musical flow.
Can you include a short salsa lesson or guest interaction?
Yes, where appropriate. We can include an informal salsa or line-dance-style moment, invite guests to join in, and help build confidence on the dancefloor. This works particularly well for parties, corporate events and celebrations with mixed-age guests.
How much space and power does Sabor a Cuba need?
Requirements depend on the line-up and whether we are providing sound. As a guide, a trio needs a clear, level performance space of around 3m x 2m and access to standard power. We confirm access, parking, sound limits and setup details well before the event.
Can you perform outdoors?
Yes, provided there is a covered, dry performance area and safe power access. A marquee, covered terrace or canopy is ideal. We also plan for weather, loading access and volume restrictions to make sure the performance runs smoothly.
Can we add DJ Jamy after the live band?
Yes. DJ Jamy can cover breaks, key transitions and the after-party, giving you one coordinated entertainment plan from arrival through to the final dance. Her DJ-live show adds professional mixing, live singing and percussion for a high-energy finish.
